About The Met Leeds

The Met Leeds is a well-placed four-star venue in the centre of Leeds. The hotel, alternatively known the Metropole Hotel, the Leeds Met, or more affectionately simply The Met, is a grade II listed building and is particularly ornate with a terracotta facade. It recently underwent a six million pound refurbishment that left few areas of the building untouched. Now, each part of the venue’s interior is modern and fresh.

Before the hotel opened its doors way back in 1899 the site was famously Leeds’ Fourth White Cloth Hall where the city’s raw fabric was traded. On opening, The Metropole Hotel gained notoriety as the first hotel in Leeds to feature a lift and electric lighting. Today, The Met is part of the Principal Hayley group of hotels with sister city centre hotels including The Palace in Manchester and The George in Edinburgh.
